File -> New option disabled in business view manager

I have a crystal reports xi server installed on my machine and when i open the business view manager, it should have prompted me if i want to create a connection or foundation or business element etc..

Instead I can just view the prompts from the repository explorer on my right side and i cant procced to create any business views..
The new option on my file menu is disabled..

I tried logging in with the administrator ID and still am not able to create any business view.

Do i have to setup any rights..Any help would be appreciated

Hi,
Are the versions ( client and server) exactly the same?

I had that very issue when the client was different from the server software..

Yeah they are the same. Iam using crystal reports 11 and we are thinking that maybe it has to do with the licenses of the bvm.
Whilst i got the full license for reports designer , the server component that has been installed on my machine does not allow me to use bvm.(it opens up but i cant create any views)
