We are in the early stages of deploying Netbackup Datacenter on both UNIX and Windows Master Servers. When creating a policy on a Windows Master Server I am able to identify machines by drilling down through the domain(s)for a policy. When I go to selective directives and wish to select directories or files, the file explorer is not able to drill down into a Server. I'm thinking the problem lies with the account the Netbackup Services call on the Master Server, but not sure. Has anyone come across this problem, and found the fix? Is there a particular Service which must be logged into the domain? BTW, we are running Datacenter 4.5 with MP1 installed, preparing to deploy MP3.

Thanks in advance for your help!

It sounds like a Veritas access issue. Which ever machine you are using to do the browsing - Make sure it is in the servers list on the server that you are trying to browse to - This is done through the NetBackup Admin GUI in the properties of the server.

To verify - Try the same procedure but using the GUI on the master - The master should already have access.

Thanks for the pointer PGPhantom. I patched a (Sun and Windows 2000) Master Server to MP3 today, and I am now able to use the file explorer (can even see Windows files from the Sun Server). Must have been one of the fixes in MP2 or MP3.

Thanks for your help,
Steve Frewin
