I get a box with file errer -b -1 come up each time my machine boots up in windows 98 it aslo locks up when it sits long enough to go to the blank screen how can I fix these things Please help !!!! kenny45_67333@hotmail.com

Is this same machine as has networking problems?

Try starting in safe mode (keep tapping F8 key before and during 98 load) and running msconfig (start up items). One of items will be running something causing your error. If you can identify it, just untick it and reboot. Otherwise you could untick every item - then process of elimination.

I'd also run a complete virus and spyware scan (eg AVG for both plus adaware and spybot for spyware).
