I'm trying to open an Access mdb file that is located on my local network from an intranet HTML page. When I click the link to open the mdb file it always shows a 'File Download Security Warning' prompt asking me to open/save/cancel.
I've tried entering the network path of the mdb file into my 'Trusted Sites' so all files from that area would be trusted. I've also tried setting a registry key 'SaveZoneInformation' to 1 and creating a key called 'LowRiskFileTypes' and putting in mdb so the computer would see this file extension as low risk and not stop it from opening. This did not work -- I still get this security warning message. I have a lot of links to mdb files to post to our intranet page and this is getting very frustrating.
Does anyone know how I can stop this prompt from coming up whenever I open an mdb file off my local network from a web browser?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot!
