1 PM file (46Meg) 17 graphics (6 eps that are stored within the file) all eps are relatively small, original file was created on Mac, now on PC. I save the file and all of a sudden the file is 91 Megs. does anyone know why this is happening.

Hello,
Could be caused if the files are embedded.
If the graphics are just linked then the doc. file size stays small. If you embed the graphics you have to then add the size of the graphics to the doc size.
Also...always do a save as this rewrites the file and removes any information that has been changed.
Good luck!

I agree with ikonpro that probably the best way to get the file smaller is to use Save As each time you save and overwrite the file. Also check in File Preferences that the save is set to smaller rather than faster. (Could take a while to save 91Mb tho!)
Good luck.

Agree to everything so far. A doubling of file size
can be a result of Binary to ASCII conversion in
PostScript image files. ASCII is standard for
safety (control codes..), but Binary is allowed. ---Gernot
