what are the two parts that a file can be defined in...?

I'm going to assume you're stil enquiring on questions from your quiz as mentioned in a previous post. My answer to this would be file-control, where the external bits like ddnames etc are defined, and File Section where the actual files are defined.

what if the potential answers are:

A logical file, file name
B logical file, physical file
C file description, file name

The answer is C, but a professional would not phrase it that way.
