File Creation Error

I have Novell 4.xx server running a network with DOS and Win98 machines.

From the DOS command line on a DOS workstation, the command

type filename >> h:eek:utput.dat

runs without any problems(where h: is a network drive)

From the DOS command line on a Win98 workstation, the command

type filename >> h:eek:utput.dat

gives: FILE CREATION ERROR.

To determine if there is a file sharing problem, from the DOS command line on a Win98 workstation, the command

type filename > h:eek:utput.dat

works without any problem.

To determine if there is an output problem, from the DOS command line on a Win98 workstation, the command

type filename >> c:eek:utput.dat

(c: is local to the workstation) works without any problem.

I was hoping someone could try these commands on their machines in a similar environment to determine if the problem is unique to me, or even better, tell me what I have overlooked on my Win98 machines.

Best Regards,

Are you running the Novell Client software or the Microsoft Client for Netware?

I would suggest running the most current Novell client and see if that solves your problem. Also, what release of Windows 98 are you using?

I have no problems with Windows 98 release 2 and the most current Novell client.
