Hi guys, I have just installed a citrix box at a client site and when using one of the client machines, I am receiving the following error

File copy operation error 5
File copy operation error:
Access denied - Check file permissions
Destination : c:\WINNT\TEMP\_$SETUP_.INF

All other users are fine. I have check the domain account and she is a member of all the same groups as everyone else.

Any suggestions?

This problem is now affecting all users, not just the one! Help please! I have tried deleting the file and I still get the same problem. I restore the file and same problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, this is a citrix pilot program! And dosent look too good!

OK, this is NOT a Citrix-related issue.

The problem lies in two areas;

1. Terminal Server profiles - looks like the Default User profile is picking up the changes, if all users are suddenly getting the same issue that only one had before.

2. An incorrectly installed application that is still attempting to run part of its setup procedure, but, since it is trying to run inside a user's sessions space, it does not have the correct permissions, so fails.

To rectify this, you could try re-creating the Default User's profile, then try re-installing the application that is failing.

I'm of the opinion that any MetaFrame pilot should have a brief Terminal Services pilot first, to iron out any problems in the base build. If you don't, it becomes very difficult to separate Citrix issues from Microsoft ones!

I hope this is helpful CitrixEngineer@yahoo.co.uk

Thanks for the response, I will give it a shot! Very helpful indeed.

The citrix pilot started out as a terminal services pilot, but my manager in his infinite wisdom decided to create a fresh installation for the citrix deployment. So far it has cost me 2 days in trouble shooting!

Problem now solved. There was a line in the login script which refered to installing VET Antivirus if not already installed. Removed the line, and uninstalled VET from the Server. Problem solved. I will now add Vet from the control panel. Thanks for your help
