how do you convert a .ram to a .mpeg?

This really doesn't have anything to do with mail, but .ram files are Real Media Player files. I don't believe there is any tool to directly convert.

As you don't say which mpeg format it's difficult to know what you're looking for exactly, but a search on Google (convert ram to mpeg) returned:

Of course, it'as not too difficult to do it by hand either (assuming you have a decent soundcard) - Simply record your playback and save in the desired format

It's a video so playing it and recording it would not work.
