I apologize if this has been previously addressed on this forum - I however, was unable to find the answer.

I am not trying to do any scripting - just use the file capture feature of the program. I start the capture and a capture file is created in the default location. The problem I am experiencing is that regardless of my settings nothing prints to the capture file. It is always a blank 0k file. If I delete the text file from the default directory and then turn on the capture, it is re-created so I know it is not a bad directory issue.

Thank you in advance for your help! I am sure it is something stilly/stupid in my configuration but I cannot for the life of me find out how to fix it.

For text to be captured, it either needs to scroll off the screen or a clear screen be issued, either by you at the local terminal or from the remote system. How much data are you receiving?

Also, you need to close the capture file after the text has been received in case you are not doing that step as well.

I'm new to this as well, is there no way to write a script that monitors an ACD(PBX line) and writes to a file. I use procomm plus to monitor our call lines.. showing helpdesk personel logged in, not logged in, work mode, available, unavailable ect..., i need this data ported to file that i can gather every few seconds from the file.

please tell me this is posible. i.e., after data is gathered, close the file? so that the data is writen to it.

any help would be greatly aprieciated!

Is the information you are looking for on a single screen when displayed in Procomm? If so, you could use the snapshot command to save the current contents to a text file, then manipulate the data in whatever way you need.
