i develop serveral sites using FP, typically doing development on a file-based "web" on the local machine in C:\MyDocuments\MyWebs, then publishing to the live web when changes are finished.

I recently moved a lot of my general directories to a local fileserver (linux based; samba) but was unable to successfully move the ...MyWebs directories. i can open the files from the moved directories, but whenever i try to save them it gives an error message about the remote server not functioning. it DOES save the file tho.

i've tried many ways of copying the files, and was sure to get all the "hidden" files. there are no obvious permissions problems, as all non-FP stuff works fine off the network server.

any thoughts???

Have you tried creating a new web on the server and importing your files?
