One of the WINNT servers we have has lost its file association for the 'My Computer' on its desktop. I have it to where it will open Explorer now, but the pwers that be like the more user friendly 'My Computer' presentation of our file and directory system. I have compared the File and File Folder associations with the WINNT Workstation I have and they match up, but I still have this issue. Any ideas?

Maybe you're open or command key could be corrupted or missing.Have you checked hk classes root\exefile\shell\open or \command to make sure you have them. You might try kb article q172223.

I checked the registry using regedt32.exe and referenced Knowledge Base article 172223 and the \open and \command keys exist with proper data. The message is still coming up though.

The reg key that handles configuration for the My Computer icon is HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{20d04fe0-3aea-1069-a2d8-08002b30309d} (if you're browsing for it, it's the only one that begins with 20d04...). Compare the values under there with what you find on another working NT4 box, and add or modify as necessary.
