Please help if you can. What I need help with is how to do this... when a person selects a choice from a drop down box, I want to have a file(an image) copied to another name (I don't want to lose the actual files(images) so that I can reuse them) then go to a link. The link will be a constant.
i.e. choose a selection, copy a file to another name(maybe even to another directory), then execute a link when the value button "GO" is pressed.

I got a partial answer to my 1st question but I didn't phrase it right so it wasn't really what I was needing but, thanks to the person that answered it.

You could use the filesystem object to copy, rename, move files on the server and put them where you want. This is easy to do in ASP and I think you can do the same with javascript but you have to tell it to run at server. Check at for FSO and/or filesystem for examples. To see how to do it in jscript from microsoft look at or check out this to start

Javascript is very dodgy for file handling. Not a good choice. Php is easy if asp unavailable. Dean Owen

Jeepers, I didn't realize that this would be so hard. I figured it was just a matter of calling a function from a submit or something relatively easy. As you can see from my handle, I am only a user, a beginner at best. I do appreciate the input and tell you all thanks.
