my question is:

How do you get a text field to resolve to 0.00, $ in other words.

I'm multipling one field with another and displaying the results in a thrid.

works great, but if the product is 9.90 ($9.90) Flash resolves the field to 9.9

how do I stop this.

got your e-mail, I've added a few extra IF statements so that the script works for values up to 1,000,000.

hi again,

I noticed a bug in the above, that if you typed in a value to 2dp, the output window wouldn't update the value. So I just added an extra IF statement for each argument.

I also put the actions on an mc ("control" in Library) on 'Enterframe' so that you don't have to hit enter to update the output box. This way you can see how the script could be used to automatically update numbers in your movie.
