Hi

I have several reports which print perfectly with a b&w laser printer but, when printed in an Epson C66 color printer, some fields seem like is missing the bottom part.

(is like on the old pin printers, when some of the pins didn't work).
I have tried it on 3 different color inkjet printers, and all do the same.

The funny thing is that it only happens on a few fields.

Obviously I can expand the height of the fields affected by this problem, but it then changes the look on the Laser printer format, which I prefer to keep.

Anyone knows why this happens and how it can be fixed without changing the Report format???

thanks

Are you using Windows TrueType / OpenType fonts, or the printer's own fonts?

I have seen a problem where a printer-specific font was chosen by mistake (it had the same name as a TrueType font!) giving odd results on everything except the original printer which supported the font.

To avoid this problem, select the "Show True Type Fonts only" option in Windows. You can get to this via 'Control Panel ... Fonts', but the exact location depends on your Windows version.

When I am creating soemthing which may be viewed / printed on different devices, I stick to the five original Windows TrueType fonts:

Arial and Times New Roman - proportional text
Courier New - fixed text
Symbol and WingDings - symbols

You can be 99% sure that these will be installed on any Windows PC!

Thanks for info.

I finally decided to make the height of each field with the problem 'taller'.
It took me a couple of hours as I had to partially redesign the report but it worked.

I will take your comments for future reference about the true fonts in Windows. I was not aware of that.

thanks
