Field visibility properties on multi page reports

I am trying to set the visibility property of a field in a report to 'On or off' depending on other information in the report. For example if a member of Staff has a skill set of 'L2 OLB' then make the Sales target field invisible and the Feedback target visible. The code runs on the 'On Activate' event. There is no error message however it doesn't do what I want. The visible properties are the same.

The report displays a list of Staff per manager and they can have different skill sets.

What happens if you put the code on the Format event of the Detail section?

What a doughnut I am, I couldn't find this event because I was looking at the properties of the whole report and not just the detail section. I will check this out when I head over to work tomorrow night. I spent hours just banging my head against a wall on this.
