Has anyone ever come across a field changing type from the database to what appears in Crystal Reports?

I'm using Crystal Reports Version 8 and I'm connecting to a database using OLE DB connection. One field is a date field in the database, checked this using SQL Server Entiprise manager but when I place it into my Crystal Report it changes to a String field.

Biazarre!

Any help or advice greatly appreciated!

Cheers

Marc

Check the report option called "convert datetime field to" and see if it is set to string. This is also in Report Options as a global setting. Ken Hamady

Hi,

I checked that and it is set to Date-Time. Upon further investigation I've found that the problem only occurs when the field is used in a sub-report, so I changed my report round and took the information out of the sub-report and now it seems ok.
