Field to Display year

need a little guidance.
I would like to create a date field that creates year only (2004) and automatically changes to 2005 to reflect new year. I'm sure this is pretty simple but I cannot figure it out

In the design view for your table, add a field called something such as MyDate, and in the Format property put yyyy. That will extract the year only from the date that is entered.
