I am BRAND NEW in Crystal Reports. I am creating a simple report using Crystal Reports 8.5 from two related SQL tables. These tables contain records dumped from a Workflow web access application so they can be printed in this report. I had initially created an Amount field in the SQL table as varchar but found in Crystal Reports that it was a 'string' and I could not format it properly. I have now changed it to a numeric field in the SQL table but it still is a string in the Crystal Report. I have logged off/back on the server. Deleted/reinserted the field. How can I change this field to a number in Crystal Reports so I can format it properly?

Thanks!!!!

Did you try the Verify Database command from the Database menu?
