I have a database in SQL Server 7.0 and I'm using MS Access 2000 as the front end. I would like to give certain users read only access to certain fields and edit access to other fields. I know I can create a form in Access to do this, but I like to setup the security on SQL Server side, to prevent anyone from circumventing the security in Access.
Is this possible?

That lead me to learning that SQL Server 2000 has the GUI version of field permissions. I was able to upgrade my Enterprise Manager to 2000 and change my permissions to my SQL Server 7.0 database.

Thanks.
