Hi,
I have an Excel document that has a column
displaying rows of three different values:
134, 134B, 134D.
I need to create a Crystal report to include
this data with a count of each value.
When I create the crystal report (using the wizard),
the field does not display the Alpha characters.
It shows: "134" only.
I have tried formatting the cell before the report is created,
and formatting the field in the crystal report,
but I can't get it to work.
I also tried ToText{field.name} but that didn't work either.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
rorymo

Insert one row into the beginning of the spreadsheet that clearly identifies the field types (Excel is a lousy data source BTW).

So insert something:

Code value another code
Nukeme 0 Nukeme
134B 100 134

That way the columns will be defined as a string (if you right click the field and check it you'll see that Crystal has it defined as a number because Excel does). SQL Server would have the same problem, it's an Excel thing.
