I learned that mso doesn't work any more in Office 2007 -->

so how can I handle it

Problems with finding the drives on my PC
Problems with finding all files in all subdirectories.

Don't know what mso is. The Dir() family of functions still works, as do the File Scripting Library objects. Both should do what you need.

Cogito eggo sum – I think, therefore I am a waffle.

Application.FileSearch was removed from 2007 (for whatever crazy reason). HarleyQuinn (here at Tek-Tips) has developed a DLL that replaces the most commonly used functions of FileSearch. You may want to try it.

See: thread707-1554897

Other than that, as genomon has pointed out, the Dir function still is available, and FSO (FileSystemObject) is still available. Dir does not help re: sub-folders much, but FSO can. These are not as easily used as FileSearch, but with some wriggling you can probably may them work for you.
