I need to install a couple of phones in a very large underground biosolid storage facility. I have one incoming phone line that terminates at the demarc on a bix which is extended to a single phone at the moment. I am thinking of installing a Norstar 3 x 8 system and extending that single incoming phone line to multiple phones at the far end of the facility. There is currently fibre from the demarc point to the far end for the SCADA systems and there are some spare pairs. I can't run new CAT6 cabling due to the distance and the cost.
My question is - can I install the Norstar system (which is an analog system) and have it run over the existing fibre network?
What do I need at each end? Is this even possible?
Thanks.
