As far as I know, there is only one FC card type with LC connector that can be used with AiX 4.3.3. This is type 6228. It needs the following packages:
devices.pci.df1000f7.com (common FC stuff)
devices.pci.df1000f9.rte (driver)
devices.pci.df1000f9.diag (card diagnostic ftuff)
If you succeed to obtain a 6239 type card, you will have to upgrade to AiX 5.x
There is a frig you can do on one of the emulex cards, from memory.....AT YOUR OWN RISK....
Move the two jumpers (near the top of the card) from the inside positions to the outside positions, then flash the card with ibm firmware and it will behave as the equivalent ibm card. (6228 4-w)
Sadly I can't remember which emulex card it was (one of the ibm cards is the same as the emulex but with the different jumper positions and firmware - ie. emulex manufactured it and ibm developed their own firmware and released it as a feature).
I don't think ibm will "support" the reflashed cards unless they have a record of doing the change for you (the card vpd will still show it was an emulex not ibm when new - some deal they had with emulex a while ago) but it should work just like the real thing.
Original emulex cards were never supported by ibm, you will need to go to emulex for the aix device drivers if you don't want to try the frig.
