I've tried to search through the forum and site, but cannot find just a basic comparison table...

Can anyone indicate what speed is possible with multimode fiber runs? How would that compare to 100Mb?

For an application example, if I were setting up a datacenter and moved each internet circuit to this one location, then installed 4 fiber runs to the offices nearby, would I notice any performance issues from the fiber? Currently the circuits are local to each office, so the speed is 100Mb via switches.

thanks in advance, joe.

10baseFl is 10 meg via multimode fiber 2 km max
100baseFX is 100 meg via multimode fiber 2 km max
1000baseSX is 1 gig via multimode fiber 220 meters max with 62.5nm (500 meters with 50nm)

there may also be a 'new' 100baseSX 10/100meg standard, I an unsure on distances

all run better at full duplex

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.
