Fiber Remote

I currently have two Wall Mount Fiber Remotes on campus. They are connected by Multi Mode fiber. We are installing new Single Mode Fiber for upgrades. Is it possible to move these remotes onto the S/M fiber and if so are there any changes in configuration and hardware that needs to be made?
