I have an IBM p690 with two LPARs, and I want to transfer data from one partition to the other. I have multiple 2-gigabit FC adapters on each partition, and I want to configure one or more to directly link the 2 partitions so that I can take advantage of increased transfer speed while not having to touch the network.

Is it possible to do this? Can they be configured as etherchannel?

Thanks in advance...

Hello

Thats an interesting one. With the IBM drivers i'd have thought not. But with manucaturers cards and drivers (IBM use re-badged emulex ones i think - i'm not at a server now to check) they allow IP over fibre channel. That route might work.

Let us know how you get on :)
