I'm a bit confused, in FF the access key works via ALT+AccessKey (for me!).

However, the missus has to use SHITF+ALT+AccessKey.

I checked and I have Version 1.5.0.12 , yet she has Version 2.somthing....

So which is the correct access key combination and why has my version of FF not updated itself?

If I manualy run 'check for updates', it says none are available.

is there a difference between versions and accesskey combination?

It could be something that changed between your two versions, or it could be an extension that one of you has installed to changed the key combinations.

AFAIK, Fx will not upgrade from one major revision to another, which is why you're seeing no updates available for your major revision. If you visit the Fx website, you should find v2 available for download.

However, I'd say having 1.x and 2.x available is a bonus... otherwise you wouldn't have spotted this issue, and would have coded for one or the other.

Hope this helps,
Dan

so I need to put a disclaimer on my page for both, this is crazy , even the supposed "Most standards compliant browser on the web" , buggers things about, lol.

Yup, as was mentioned in one of the links in your other thread, FF2 has changed from only alt-key to alt-shift-key so as not to interfere with some of the regular commands available through alt-key combinations.

And Dan explained the rest. I will just confirm, that AFADK (as far as Dan knows) is also AFAIK.

But there is no standard for access keys, AFAIK.

You might want an accessibilty page, something like the one no our site (see link in my sig).
