Hello,
It's been a few years since I've used Filemaker -- I've been doing a lot more work in Excel...Nonetheless, I have a couple of questions as I convert my spreadsheet into a database...
1. Is there any way, within filemaker, to 'rank' results in fields (especially repeating fields). For example, in Excel, I can choose the "Rank" function, which will rank each result; or, I can choose Large(Range, position) - which will identify the 2nd highest, or 3rd highest result. All I see in Filemaker is Max and Min - I need to actually rank results from 1 through however many there are.
2. Is there any way to do a 'countif' function in Filemaker - for example, tell it to JUST count the number of a specific result in a field (i.e., if 3 of my fields are "Y" and 3 are "N" - I'd like to have two calc fields - one for Y and one for N with a '3' in each of them. I suppose the other way around this is to do a script with a find built into it (so, just finding) and then doing the count.
Thanks for any help any can provide!
Chris
