1st, a simple one(!?), i would to set option -v (verbose) as default for (b)oot. I know there's a file for that, but i just can't find it!!

2nd, sometimes the command "quota" takes a long time to finish (time-out??). Even though i haven't set up any disk quota!! This somehow creates a big problem when normal users take much longer time to login since bourne shell runs "quota" during shell initialisation. Of course i can just comment it out in /etc/profile, but is there a more pro solution!!? After all, it doesn't always happen, just often!!

3rd, During boot (after PROM), the harddisk light will keep on forever (not blinking).
"b -v" messages:-
... ... ...
ata_set_feature: (0x66, 0x0) failed
PCI-device: ide@1, ata1
ata1 is /pci@0,0/pci-ide@7,1/ide@1
cmdk0 at ide0 target 0 lun 0
cmdk0 is /pci@0,0/pci-ide@7,1/ide@0/cmdk@0,0

WARNING: /pci@0,0/pci-ide@7,1/ide@0 (ata0):
timeout: abort request, target=0 lun=0
WARNING: /pci@0,0/pci-ide@7,1/ide@0 (ata0):
timeout: abort device, target=0 lun=0
WARNING: /pci@0,0/pci-ide@7,1/ide@0 (ata0):
timeout: reset target, target=0 lun=0
WARNING: /pci@0,0/pci-ide@7,1/ide@0 (ata0):
timeout: reset bus, target=0 lun=0

The last four warning messages are also displayed when no verbose output...
So, is this a problem with the harddisk or bus or just settings??

thanks for at least reading it... :p
