Hi everybody
I have very few doubts in below mentioned concepts.Anyone can solve my doubts.
1.can i have more than one fact table as data source to transformer.
2.is it possible to have different measures for different levels in single cube
3.is it necessary that impromptu be installed in the system which is using iqd as data source for transformer(i created iqd in one server in which i have impromptu installed and i copied the same iqd to another system which does not have impromptu installed on it,but i have transformer installed in it).can i create cube using that iqd even without impromptu installed on it.
4.what is meant by allocation in transformer.

Thanks

1. Yes
2. No, but you can have data from one data source at a different level of granularity than from another source. For instance, you can have sales on a daily basis and sales projections on a weekly basis. All are the "sales" measure, however.
3. I am not sure about your question about distributed Impromptu installation. PowerPlay transformer, however, can create cubes from flat file feeds in addition to IQD's
4. Allocation is a way to "allocate" or "pro-rate" a measure. For instance, in the example of #2. You could allocate the weekly sales to the daily level by dividing by 5 (or 7). You can also allocate by variable. For instance, you can allocate the shipping charge for an order across the order's items. You could allocate by the item's weight, or by its cost, or simply by the count of items.

Sometimes the grass is greener on the other side because there is more manure there - original.

3- Transformer does not have to be on the same machine as Impromptu to use the IQD's.
