I had the same problem with RedHat 6 before I installed Fedora on this box...

You can click on the network options "Internet Configuration" blah blah, but NOTHING will ever pop up..

In my seperate account it will ask for the root password to do it, and it won't even work in root..

It has disk activity, but never brings up a config window

I have ran system-config-network and nothing happens either.

When running system-config-network at a command prompt I get this reply

"Fatal Python error: could not import gnomevfs

Is the module for your NIC loaded? Seeing as you mentioned RH6 being installed, I guess it's a pretty old box. 2 of my machines have 3C509 NICs and the modules for those cards don't load at boot after upgrading to FC3. I have to include a line in /etc/rc.local to load the modules at every boot.

it may just be a bug in FC4 for now... I still cannot load any network configs after a wipe and reinstall..

but my network config does work...
