From related threads and discussions, this month (February 2004) has been the hardest on on the anti-trojan, anti-virus, anti-worm community on record.
There are some very exhausted people in the "fight back" software community, and the month is not over.
"Quadrupled", "Quintupled" are the common statements from the anti-malware developer community.
. Be up to date on all of your definition files. Running Norton AV with months old definitions, SpyBot or AdaWare with something you downloaded even a week ago does not help anymore;
. This might be a good time to be very conservative on your ActiveX controls under Windows;
. This is an excellent time to increase the frequency in which you Scan your system using the tools you have;
It is a real mess out there on the internet. Sad.
