Feature Key

I have a 403 at home and one at work and the feature key is at work with ulimited vmpro i would like to know if there is anyway to use this feature key at both places. i can VPN into work and i know the ip address of the FK machine. My IP office licenses are invalid has anyone tried this yet.

There is not a known way to do that. The license server software can make only one connection to a IP Office.
So it is either work or home.

Simple answer - NO

You can have the feature key at work - then VPN in - then use the 'features' at home - but this would mean turning the IPO at work off.

As I understand it - the FK software opens 1 IP port - to the first IPO that asks for it. Once this port is open - it can not be opened again - hence the 1 FK per 1 IPO problem.

I think the main reason for this is so that you don't have 1 central FK server - serving multple IPO's (nice idea though). Imagine being able to have one FK server at your head office - and having every customer you have logged on to it - you'd need never sell a licence ever again

This was the problem with the old Alchemy software - no protection - so certain 'cowboy' outfits sold customers the software but then installed it from a copy!

No doubt, some clever programmer will come along and make some sort of port replicator type thingy - but until then...

if yopu have a VoIP network betwwn the two switches then you can use Centralzed VM Pro.

Otherwise Try signing up with Avaya as a trial/developement partner & try to blag it for free (worked for me, but then I do honestly have contact with them. Thanks guys I know you read this. )
