Hi

I have set up hot desking on a Mitel 3300 SW 8.0.9.11. I have set up a 5215 dual mode as a hot desk station and given it the correct class of service for hot desking. I have set up a hot desk user and given it the correct class of service also. I have set up the cluster element as per help file. When I try to log on with the short code I get the error 'Feature Fail' and the set goes back to the original ext and does not log on as the hot desk? I have tried multiple sets 5330, 5215 none work? Any pointers would be much appreciated.

Thanks

within cluster element assignment ensure you have something in the custer element id digits (doesnt matter what) i normally use 1900

let me know

cheers

Hi James

Yep, ive got 800 in the custer element id digits and this matches the ICP/PBX Number.

Thanks

hmmmmm not sure then, previously thats the only thing thats caught me out as its not documented. when i have done this the custer element id digits are different to that of the ICP/PBX number.......apart from that sorry...i just followed the documentation

good luck

Article Title
Getting "Error: feature failure" when attempting to login a Hot Desk User Publish Date
Jan-23-2006

Description/Symptoms
During Hot Desking login, the following error message is displayed on the display of the IP set:
(Error: feature failure). Both the Hot desk enabled set and the Hot Desk user are local on the 3300 ICP controller.

Body/Solutions
After investigation and verification of standard Hot Desking configuration requirements, we found out that the ICP/PBX Number and the Cluster Element ID were not the same. In our case, the ICP/PBX Number was set to 101 and Cluster Element ID was set to 201. After we matched both number and made them the same, the problem was resolved and Hot Desk logging feature worked with no problem.

Solution= Ensure that ICP number matches Cluster Element ID.

Note: If ICP number does not match Cluster element ID, IP console, 5235 application etc may not work properly
