I am hoping someone knows how to configure the number of rings that voice mail will use after being transferred to voice mail via Feature 986?

Currently it is ringing 4 times. I am sure it used to go almost directly to voice mail before our power failures that wiped out the programming and having it reprogrammed for us from scratch.

Is this a separate setting from the AA settings for the incoming lines? Seems to me when our Receptionist decides to send a call to voice mail it shouldn't ring the phone extension it is being put into, right?

Any helps would be great. Thanks

Yes, F986 sends it directly to the MB without a delay. It seems to me that the receptionist is not using F986. I suggest you actually watch what she is doing when she's transfering the call. Reboot the Voicemail if you see she is doing it correctly. Good luck. darnold@americaii.com

Well we have programmed a button on the CAP module to be Feature 986, so I know it is being done correctly as far as using a CAP key to do it.

I am hesitant to reboot the Flash due to everything else working correctly and fear of causing more problems by doing so. I would expect more than just this one issue if the Flash system did not come up correctly right?

Thanks for you input.

OH......., you are using a CAP! Well, make sure the receptionist isn't pushing the cap station button instead of entering manually the mailbox number after F986. If she is using the cap station button then that's your problem. Those buttons are only stations. You can't hit feature 986 then the Cap station button. It would simply ring at the station and call forward as usual. darnold@americaii.com

Hmmm that is weird then as it used to work this way. She would hit the CAP button that was programmed to Feature 986 then the CAP button that had the extension.

I see what you are saying though, once you hit the CAP button it would just take it as being fwded to that extension and cancel the feature 986.

But I know it used to work the other way.

I am sorry, one modification to what is being done.

She is hitting a CAP button that has been reprogrammed to be Feature 986 then typing in the extension number then Rls and not pushing the CAP button with the extension as I said.

Sorry for the confusion.

Never mind :)

I had been reprogramming the CAP key through the master reprogramming and must have done it wrong.

I just did it via the Feature *3 and hit the CAP key I wanted to reprogram then hit Feature 986 and voila! It now works the way it used to and should.

Sorry for the run around and thanks for your help.
