Feature 986 - Transfer to Mailbox woes

Hi all,

Occasionally, one of our employees will try to use Feature 986 to forward a caller to another employee's voice mail. Usually entering Feature 986 asks for the mailbox to be transferred to. From time to time we're seeing a problem where entering Feature 986 doesn't request a mailbox number - it seems to just put the caller on hold (line indicator blinks).

Can anyone help me understand what is going on?

you need at least 2 intercom keys, I dont know what happens exatly if you dont, but it wont work. do the people having the issue have 2 intercom keys, or are you saying that the same phone works sometimes and doesnt other times?
 
Hi BombOne,

Our receptionist is a perfect example of this. She only has 1 intercom line, but more often than not it works. Only on some occasions is she unable to forward the call to VM.
 
if that intercom is busy while she tries to do it, it wont work. She must have lines that appear on her phone, those could transfer to voice mail with the one intercom key, but if she has a call on her intercom key and tries, it will fail. Can you add an intercom key, or is her phone full?
 
Her phone was full, but I am able to remove her from one of the hunt groups occupying a space. I'll post back if the issues continue.

BCM450 1.0 had this problem and it was corrected. Be sure your system is up to date with patches.
