I fought PhotoDeluxe's very weird interface and file operations for a very long time. Now I've learned how to use PhotoShop 5 and I like it a lot. However, there's a very strange difference. In PhotoDeluxe, if I wanted to make a picture with edges that fade off, I'd make a selection and click "feather". I'd enter how many pixels I want it to fade off, and bingo, a nice "viqnette". In PhotoShop, I'll make a selection, click "feather", and enter the number of pixels. Then, it just rounds the edges of my selection, and it turns out the number of pixels is the radius of the rounded corner. I don't understand why the same term means totally different things in two programs that are so closely related.

Thank you very much.

one way you can do is
1) select the area that you want to do feather
2) choose Feather and enter the number of pixels
3) press CTRL+X (or +C)
4) Open a new window, and paste

Hope this helps
