Feasble in Extra! Macro?

Normaly use Extra! to record macros and automate certain sections of jobs in work. Which saves time but its not very 'inteligent' ie it grinds to a halt the second something unrecored jumps up.

Im wondering if via Extra basic would it be feasible to write and 'inligent' macro that would 'look' at the charcter the cursor is sitting on and make decsions based up options i program in?

I reaslise this is a broad question but dont want to put in the effort if this simply is not possible via this.

Yes it most certainly is possible to do what you are asking. The easiest way to do what you're asking is to set a variable to be the string value on the screen.

Something like YourVariable$=Sess0.Screen.Getstring(2,24,8)

and then make decisions upon YourVariable$.
