FE/BE with OpenOffice Base

Out of curiosity, has anyone experimented with using an Access Front to an OpenOffice Base Backend?

We're all aware of the 2GB limit M$ Access has, so in order to bust that limit, M$SQL and other heavyweight backends have been used. Anyone thrown OO on a Linux server and tried this combination??
