You can get more than 3 hops from the FDN if you use DID's by programming the FDN to the external number of the DID.

First ext 3000
FDN 4001
Second ext 3001
FDN 92324002
Third ext 4002(DID 232-4002)
FDN 4003
Fouth ext 3004
FDN to VM

It will work...it's working in my office as we speak!
When the call is routed out of the switch the FDN is reset although the CLID stays with the original call.
We did this once with Group Hunt or ACD, cant remember the particulars. One of those one off applications that a customer had to have. I was thinking it was Group Hunt but for the life of me I cant remember.
Neat idea. Yes, that would work to FDN many steps. However, the call quality would suffer at the second or third step as each trunk connection is going to add dB loss. But, if you have a call in search of an answer, that is a neat idea.
I wonder if you programmed your DID range in BARS and programmed a DMI table to strip off everything except the 4 digits if the result would be the same?
