ok so what do you think i should do in order to partitions my HD? or how can i install an operating system?

I apologize.......My last post is a QUESTION.....are you saying you want to wipe out everything????....and start fresh???..
Just want to be sure........as I don't want you to lose important files (if it's even at all possible)....

Since it clobbered during restore it may have damaged the bootstrap and partition table.
Boot with the floppy. fdisk /mbr. reboot. fdisk and delete all partitions you can find. when empty create a primary partition and make active.. should do it automatically. Reboot and format c: /s. reboot with the floppy out.

Howdy:

Just a thought, but that error is common if the BIOS av protection is enabled.. Try booting into BIOS and then disable the onboard Trend antivirus.

Murray

yah i have the original cd and how can i disable the onboard Trend antivirus.

Watch you screen as it starts up.. the key combination to get into BIOS should show.. Norm, ally, you press the <delete> key when prompted..

Don't forget to save the change after you disable the av program..

Murray

ok im in the bios but i dont see nothign that says av or that has anything to do with the av all is see is this
MAIN STORAGE
-system info -diskette drives
-set time -ide devices
-detect drives and exit -boot order
-set default and exit
-ignore changes
-save changes

SECURITY ADVANCED
-setup password -power on self test
-power on password -power loss managment
-pci drives
-bus options
-device options

Right at Boot.....
Before the WINDOWS screen appears, there's a keyboard button you push to enter thee BIOS.....some older BIOS call it "enter setup"......
Look at the screen during boot ....It should tell you how to enter...

The key or key's usually are
f1, or
f2, or could be the
DELETE key, or
CTRL+ALT+ESC, or just plain
ESC key.....
and or a few rare others like f10

What kind of system you have......?
