Fdisk/Netware mismatch with size of HDD

Hi,
I have a 4GB SCSI drive sitting on a Dell server. I have Fdisked a 50M DOS partition, but when i go into netware 3.12 install, it sees the following:

DOS Huge Partition - size 1.3MB
Free space - 114.8MB

any ideas?

Hi, Barry.

What version of DOS? I assume you created it as a FAT partition. Did you use the DR Dos that came with 3.12 or another version?

The other possibility is the SCSI driver you are using under Novell 3.12. Are you sure it is appropriate?

Are there any other SCSI devices on the BUS. You might try changing the SCSI ID's around.

I kinda remember from days of old the DR DOS that comes on the install disk caused bother of its own, so i settled for DOS 6.22.

I'm not even getting to the stage of loading any drivers in netware, just the starting DOS side of things. I do have two SCSI drives in the Dell server, so i might try removing one and reconfiguring...they are 4Gb each.

Apart from that, just a CD ROM in the server....

Yes, 6.22 should be fine.

And, assuming that FDISK is interpreting the partition table correctly, then the drive is being accessed OK by
DOS.

However I have had problems allocating Netware partitions etc using INSTALL without loading the netware disk driver before loading install. Or when in install you can go to the system console screen and load the disk driver.

Other than that check the SCSI ID's and maybe try disconnecting the other devices temporarily and see if that helps.
