I just obtained a used EMC Clariion FC4500 array fully loaded with 10 36 gigabyte drives.. My question is.. How do i get this thing to work? :) It has only power cables, i have no manuals, and no clue where to start on this thing.. I plugged in a serial cable to and watched the unit startup, it boots up and go straight into "Entering Serial Application Mode".. Any idea how to get out of this? I typed {}{} which i read in another post but that had no luck.

I would like to get this array up and running and use it with a 2 server cluster i want to build..

Any help would be great!

Thanks!

Shane

You need a program called Navisphere to manage the array. The serial port does nothing more than you noted. Once the power testing is completed, control is passed to the Flare code that runs the array. You cannot interface to that code without the Navisphere tool.
