Hi,

i have a hp-ux 9000 version 11.0 server which holds oracle databases and configuration files.

I use fbackup to backup my files but my backups have been giving me the following errors lately

fbackup(1601): could not access -i/-e file /nfsoracopy/oracle/export/moip
fbackup(1601): could not access -i/-e file /u01/oracle/archive/*
fbackup(1601): could not access -i/-e file /u01/backup/*
fbackup(1417): cannot open the dates file /var/adm/fbackupfiles/dates for reading

Here is a copy of my backup.graph file which specifies the directories to backup:

# more backup.graph
i /
e /nfsoradump
e /nfsoracopy
i /nfsoracopy/oracle/export/moip
e /u01/oracle/archive/*
e /u01/backup/*

e /u03/oracle/eolas/exports

Can someone shed some light on why theses directories cannot be accessed?

Thanks.

Joe

Hello Joe,

A couple of things occur to me:

1 - are these files open by something already?

2 - is there a possibility these filesystems are damaged in some way?

Hi Mike,

thanks for your time.

None of these files are open already or damaged.

Any other ideas?

Hi Ken,

the ownership of u01 hasn't changed but /nfsoracopy and /nfsoradump has.

The used to be mounted on a different server but are now mounted on the server i am getting the problem on.

Joe

Joe,

Could you compare the passwd and group files on the server they used to mount on and the server they are mounted on now?

Check the uid and gid fields for the relevant users on both machines.
