I am trying to use an answerphone and faxmodem on the same line. The answerphone should answer and allow the caller to leave a message, but if it is a fax machine calling, then the faxmodem should answer and Winfax 10 receive the fax.
The problem is that this only works sometimes. The rest of the time Winfax acknowledges a connection but then just drops it. I have a (very old) faxswitch box but I'm not sure it's working correctly - do I still need this or is there some other way ?
Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question but I can't find an obvious answer anywhere! The other curious thing is that all worked fine up until XP SP2..
At a complete loss to know what to do. Thanks in advance.
