Hello Everyone;
I was asked a question and did not know the answer, I'm still new at this, we have ten fax machines and they all have there own B1 line(direct trunk)(Example:812-352-xxxx)and the B1's don't go through the Meridian 1 61C and they want the fax lines to go through the switch so they can be tracked by the accounting software, my question is: Is this possible and how do you set it all up in the meridian 1 61C, I'm still learning the meridian 1 61C, so step by step instructions would be greatly appreciated, do I need additional hardware or software, Let me know.
Thank you very much for your time.
Russ

YOU HAVE TWO CHOICES, IF YOU WANT TO KEEP THE SAME NUMBERS AND YOU HAVE A ISDN PRI IN THE SWITCH YOU CAN GAVE THE B1'S CONVERTED TO NON-CONSECTIVE DID NUMBERS. IF YOU DON'T HAVE A ISDN PRI YOU CAN HAVE TELCO REMOTE CALL FORWARD THE LINES TO WHATEVER DID NUMBER YOU HAVE. THE CHEAPEST IS THE ISDN PRI IF YOU HAVE IT.
IF YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT KEEPING THE NUMBERS JUST PROGRAM THE FAXES WITH A VACANT DID NUMBER.

I would ask that the numbers be converted to arrive in your system over the PRI as PERRYPJ suggested, but there is a way to connect the existing lines into traditional trunk cards and have the calls terminate on TYPE "500" TNs that in turn connect to the fax machine jacks.

Obtain "Universal Trunk Cards" - they each support 8 trunks.

Create a new COT Trunk Route in LD16, take all the defaults you can except answer YES to AUTO.

Program 10 "500" TNs for the fax macbines.

Program 10 COT trunks in LD14 assigned to the COT route, defining the "ATDN" of each B1 (1MB is what Indiana would call them) to corrospond with the DN or the Fax machine's "500" TN

In the call accounting system, you'll collect call records linked to those DNs.
