Faxing from MAS

we have a networked brother fax machine. the brother software installs a brother pc-fax printer in "printers and faxes" in MAS, we can send faxes with the brother software by previewing the report and then selecting print. this launches the brother software for faxing. the fax goes through fine.

the problem is that is appears MAS is waiting for a response. it hangs on a Crystal Reports printing status. the top of the box shows "printing crystal reports" and the text of the box says "printing report" and has a status bar that does not progress any further. do i need to configure the fax machine or software to send a response to MAS so that it knows the job is done?

i do not think the problem is with Crystal because i can use the brother software to fax directly from a crystal report without problems.

i have resolved this issue

MAS does not like the name FAX on a printer other than WINFAX. so i had to rename the Brother PC-Fax to something that did not include the word "FAX" in it.

then, in MAS, do NOT preview the report. select the fax-printer-which-does-not-include-fax-in-the-name and then select print. this launches the brother software. i can send my fax, the brother software closes, and MAS no longer hangs.
