Hello everyone. Have a weird issue here. For some reason only long distance faxes have started to come through blank. The machine completes the handshake and spits out a blank sheet. Local faxes come through fine. It's not just from one locationj, it's many different states. Yes, the people are placing the paper in the machine correctly. Anyone have any ideas? I'm at a loss.

Faxes both directions are like this? Are your local and long distance trunks the same? If they are different trunks do they reside in different Media Gateways?

It seems to be only inbound faxes. Local and long distance trunks are the same. Outbound traffic flows on one media gateway and inbound is on another. I've moved over the inbound circuits to the outbound box and the same problem. Network has been out with a tberd and tests clean to the telco but they said they are seeing crc errors coming from the equipment.

Are all your sites served by the same telco/LD carrier? If so - check with them. Make sure they have T.38 turned up on their circuits.

Either that or, by coincidence, everyone is scanning the blank side of the paper they're trying to fax.

CRC errors from the equipment is typically a layer 1 issue, cabling, card any type of hardware. Also keep in mind the maximum fax rate between Media Gateways is 14.4, that's it.
