Fax to Scan to OCR

We are looking into a system to get a large number of faxes (approx 500 a week most arriving in one afternoon) not normal paper faxed but when received scanned, then ocr'd then sorted into a database.

Has anyone had any experience of something similar and could you let me know what you've done.

Most MFPs that have a connected fax will recieve faxes and store in a file on a computer, Then with an OCR program, drag the faxes into it to convert.
Received faxes are already scanned and compressed in a form recognized by OCR programs.
